Maryland softball faces Rutgers for an away series

Maryland softball (14-22) will face up Rutgers (vii-29) this weekend for a four-game series. In Piscataway, New Jersey, the 2 volition play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 p.grand., a unmarried game on Sat at 12 p.k. and the final game on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Terps are coming off of a losing series against Nebraska (20-xvi) with 1 mercy rule loss. Despite sophomore pitcher Trinity Schlotterbeck recording the loss in game one against Nebraska, she is one to keep your eye on.

Look out for atomic number 82-off batter freshman centre fielder Jaeda McFarland. McFarland batted 3-iv in game 3 confronting Nebraska, one of which was a domicile run during her showtime at-bat. Inferior 2nd baseman Taylor Okada also came in clutch in game 3 with a RBI unmarried.

Rutgers is also coming off of a loss in a four-game series sweep. Iowa (20-16) dominated Rutgers with 2 mercy-rule wins. Notwithstanding, Rutgers is looking to improve its .194 tape in this domicile game series confronting Maryland.

Expect out for sophomore pitcher Ashley Hitchcock who came in to relieve graduate pupil pitcher Izzy Berouty in game three. Hitchcock struck out three Iowa batters and simply allowed one walk and one run in iii.2 innings pitched.

Sophomore right fielder Taylor Fawcett batted .750 in game one against Iowa with two singles and a double. Graduate student left fielder Anyssa Iliopoulos also went 3-4, but with 3 singles and a stolen base. Ane thing Maryland will need to continue an eye on is Rutger'southward speedy runners. In game one against Iowa, Rutgers recorded four stolen bases from four split players.
